Ratu 19 o Hongoingoi

Welcome back to Room 11's blog for Term 3! We started our term with a team building exercise. We were asked to stand and make a circle, but we didn't know why? We had to think about 'why' we were doing this and what 'our' (individual) role was. Then we were asked to hold hands with the person beside us.

As a class we had to move a hoop around the circle while our hands were linked. I took only a few seconds for some members of our class to show 'leadership' and 'initiative.' Quickly, we had the hoop on the move, it was so funny, we were laughing while also being 'supportive!' We had to 'co-operate and be observant as the hoop traveled around the group.

We agreed that to be successful in this task and all classroom tasks we need to work as a team! We need to think about our individual roles that we play, and the roles of others. It was great to be successful! Next time we are going to time ourselves and see if we can move the hoop round the circle faster. We will let you know how we get on...next time!! Rm11.

Anna's 2nd Email

Hi everyone I hope that you all had a great holiday. I sure did!!!

Sorry but I can't make it to school on Monday because in London we got delayed for 3 hours (there was an oil leak) and that ment after 12 hours in the air when I reached Singapore I had missed my 2nd flight. I had to stay in a very very posh hotel for the night and catch the next plane to Cristchurch at 11:40pm New Zealand time. At Cristchurch I will be there by 9:30 New Zealane time and will meet dad and fly back to Wellington with him.

Hopefully I will be at school on Tuesday.

Sorry Rachael I wont be there for your 11th birthday. But happy birthday.

Last Day of term 2

This morning Karaka and Totara Syndicates met in the hall to showcase when we had been doing in our "Option's" classes over the last 6 weeks. We saw some plays from the Drama group, Students talked about the sewing and cooking options. Cooking didn't have anything to show...it was all in their tummies. Ms Craddock showed a keynote slideshow of Ephemeral Art, the mosaic group showed their mosaic that will go up in our new hall later this year.


This afternoon we had the big North Creek Opening. We had really important people here, like the mayor of South Wairarapa, Representatives from Meridian Energy and Wellington Regional Council. After the Maori welcome we ALL go to plant one of the hundreds of trees, needing to be planted. It was a wonderful occasion for everyone, especially all the current and past students and teachers who have worked extremely hard on the North Creek project.

Hi room11,

Yesterday Granny and I got on the plane to London at 21:30 from Valencia (a city in Spain.) But didn't land until 23:35 and we had to get the bags of the plane as well as having 40 minute drive ahead of us. So we got back to Granny's house at 1:20 in the morning.
However Granny and I had so much fun in Spain and sometimes it's great just to relax and chill out. In Spain we were swimming and swimming and swimming and we did a little bit of shopping as well.
I have some great new clothes and love all of the British shops.
Mum, Dad and Tayla have all told me how bad and rainy the weather is I hope that it gets a little better. Great little movie by the way.
